Every day she's lost within herself.
Everyone cries to her for help.
Every time she spills her open heart,
Something's left behind and torn apart.
Every day she loves and they love back.
Every moment paint begins to crack.
Human imperfection in its form
Brewing in her mind a violent storm.
Slamming her hands down upon her brain.
Damage done and all control is drained.
Breathe in, breathe out, then wake up and see
What she wants is not what she must be.
He loves her enough to dream
Of what she won't scheme.
Blood runs through his soul.
Despair takes its toll.
She goes on with life and her strong will,
But the phantoms always haunt her still.
Wizards breaking spells that they have cast.
Imaginations dying with her past.
Children call to her to come and play
But she goes along her working way.
Master of Temptation draws her in
But her hands can't reach the fire within.
How can she hold on
When she can't explain
What runs through her mind
What causes such pain?
How can she return?
How can she be free?
Why won't her skin burn
With all hell underneath.
Reality a word she can't define.
Fantasy the disease of her mind.
Future tripping, scorning past,
Present slipping, warning fast.
How could she just be this way
When things went so well today.
Solid ground is cold and tense
Swimming through the void of sense.
What she thought she loved was not the truth
Only her escape from her abuse.
He can't solve it, he tells her to stay.
He's what's left to turn her mind away.
Why can't she be open to
The ones who share her blood.
She carries such hope and truth
But she's misunderstood.
They wonder what's wrong and call her names.
They tell her not to scorn herself in vain.
But how can she learn to change around
When she was not bred on stable ground.
She's still lost and drowning in these words
Wondering what will change if they are heard.
Carrying on with no reason to end.
Resolution, will she find it, when?
Driving out the rhythm in her brain
Taken from the music she has played.
She fears she won't find the answer again.
Is this the only price she paid?
What will she do with hope so small?
What will she do to change it all?
What can she say that's never heard before?
When will she break and take no more?
